Community guidelines

Local Kin is a neighborhood of parents and caregivers. These guidelines keep it a place where everyone feels welcome.

Be kind and respectful

Disagree with ideas, never with people. Assume good intent.

No bullying or discrimination

Harassment, slurs, or putting down any family, child, or group is not allowed.

Protect children's privacy

Don't share a child's full name, photo, diagnosis, school, or other identifying details, yours or anyone else's.

No unsolicited advertising

Sharing a place that helped you is great. Promoting your own business or service is not.

Respect different family experiences

Every family's path looks different. What worked for you may not work for someone else, and that's okay.

Experience is not professional advice

Share what happened for your family, but please don't present it as medical, legal, or therapy advice. Check with a qualified professional.
